BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

body

Background:

Charlotte County is seeking design services for a firm to design construction ready plans to be incorporated into the County bid documents and all applicable Federal, State, and Local permitting and construction oversight services for the partial demolition and complete replacement and/or repair of the disaster damaged waterfront as well as both in-water and over water assets.

On February 25, 2026, the Board of County Commissioners approved the ranking of firms, the approval to start negotiations, and authorized the Chairman to sign the contracts after completion of negotiations if the contract did not exceed $350,000. As the contract does exceed that amount, it is being brought back to the Board for official review and approval.
