BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
On November 14, 2023 the Board of County Commissioners approved the ranking and start of negotiations for Request for Proposal #23-654, Advanced Metering Infrastructure System Assessment Study. The Chairman was also authorized to sign the contract after completion of negotiations.
Utilities would like to cancel this contract utilizing the Cancellation/Termination Clause in the Proposal document, which reads,
“RP-09 CANCELLATION/TERMINATION: The County shall have the right to unilaterally cancel, terminate or suspend this Contract, in whole or in part, by providing the successful proposer thirty (30) days written notice by certified mail.”
The total amount of funds for the remaining services totals $210,051.01.
