Recommended Action:

a) Approve ranking of firms for Request for Proposal #26-397, Countywide Elevator Assessment: 1st ATIS Elevator Inspections, LLC of Port Richey, Florida; 2nd Lerch Bates Elevator Consulting Inc. of Tampa, Florida; 3rd The Elevator Consultants (TEC) of Tarpon Springs, Florida; and

b) Approve start of negotiations; and

c) Authorize the Chairman to sign the Contract after completion of negotiations, if contract does not exceed the amount of $300,000.

Budgeted Action:

No action needed. Budgeted in the Capital Improvement Project “Countywide Elevator Assessment” as approved in the FY26 budget process. Funding is supplied by Capital Projects, ad valorem.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background: 

Charlotte County is seeking a qualified firm in elevator controls and equipment to evaluate existing elevator and wheelchair lift systems in County-owned buildings and provide professional recommendations.

 

Four (4) proposals were received and evaluated by the Professional Services Committee consisting of Robb Green, Senior Projects Coordinator- Facilities; Michael Seneca, Deputy Chief - Public Safety; Tom Robinson, Building Official - Community Development.

 

Copies of the proposals received are attached along with the breakdown of the ranking.
