b) Authorize the Chairman to sign the Agreement.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
The property within the West Port East Community Development District (“District”) has developed, and will continue to develop, into a community known as “West Port East” with residences, parks, facilities, and other uses. As part of the development, land within the District has been platted and streets dedicated to the District for public use.
The Agreement is to provide enforcement of the State Uniform Traffic Control (Sec. 316.006(3), Florida Statutes) on those streets dedicated to the District for public use, and any streets that may be dedicated to the District in the future. The Agreement is for general traffic enforcement at the Charlotte County Sheriff’s discretion, and any special events which the District desires to have dedicated patrols, and is subject to the rates set by the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.
