Recommended Action:
a) Approve the Interlocal Agreement on behalf of the Coastal and Heartland National Estuary Partnership (CHNEP), and the City of North Port for Services Supporting CHNEP’s Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan; and
b) Authorize the chairman to sign the Interlocal Agreement.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
Charlotte County serves as the fiscal and legal host of the Coastal & Heartland National Estuary Partnership (CHNEP) to provide an array of operational support services, including entering into agreements on its behalf in support of the implementation of the CHNEP’s Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan. This Interlocal Agreement between Charlotte County on behalf of the Coastal & Heartland National Estuary Partnership is in relation to the City of North Port providing services in supporting of CHNEP’s Comprehensive Conservation And Management Plan to improve water quality, restore hydrology, protect fish, wildlife, and their habitat as well as further public engagement in the CHNEP service area (which includes the City of North Port).
