BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background: 

Senior Friendship Center, Inc. is seeking to enter into a new lease for their current location at the Rebecca Neal Owens Center located at 27420 Voyageur Drive, Punta Gorda, FL 33983.

 

The current lease expires December 31, 2025, and the rate is based on the cost of utilities.  The new lease shall be for one (1) year with the option to renew for two (2) additional terms of one (1) year each with the same terms and conditions as the current lease. 

 

Florida Statute 125.38 permits Counties to lease County-owned property to not-for-profit organizations which are organized for the purposes of promoting public or community interest and welfare.

 

Facilities, County Attorney’s Office, and Real Estate Services staff have reviewed this lease and recommend approval.
