a) Approve the Settlement Agreement and Release in Katie Gostischa v Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners, Charlotte County Case Number 25CA000528 in the 20th Judicial Circuit in and for Charlotte County, Florida, relating to a motor vehicle accident; and
b) Authorize the Chairman to sign the Settlement Agreement and Release.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
This Agreement will serve as a full settlement and release, concluding Charlotte County litigation filed by M. Gostischa against Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners regarding a motor vehicle accident that occurred on August 24, 2023 at the intersection of Cornelius Blvd and Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, Charlotte County, Florida. In the Complaint, Ms. Gostischa is seeking compensatory damage for injuries sustained during the accident. By approving this settlement, the case will be resolved and the County will avoid the uncertainty of a trial verdict.
