No action needed. Budgeted in the Law Enforcement Trust Fund budget as approved in the FY2026 budget process. Funding for the expenditure comes from court related fines and fees Federal seizure proceeds allocated locally for assistance in Federal Cases.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
The Sheriff receives Federal Forfeiture revenue each year from their contribution to the Law Enforcement effort resulting in Federal Forfeiture. The regulations require the proceeds to be deposited in a Special Law Enforcement Trust Fund established by the Board of County Commissioners and the Funds may be expensed by the Sheriff upon request.
