b) Approve Resolution for budget adjustment BA26-250 in the amount of $722,620 for engineering services and internal project costs associated with wastewater utility improvements within the Harborview Road corridor.

Approve budget adjustment BA26-250 in the amount of $722,620, increasing Capital Improvement Project “Harborview Road Widening - Utility Improvements - Phase I & II” from $17,172,487 to $17,895,107. Funding is provided from the Utility Wastewater Connection Fee Fund.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background: 

Charlotte County Utilities is coordinating with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and Charlotte County Public Works on the Harborview Road widening project from Melbourne Street to Interstate 75. As part of the roadway improvements, wastewater utility improvements are required to support the extension of centralized sewer service within the Harborview Road corridor.

 

Budget Adjustment BA26-250 provides $722,620 in FY2026 to fund engineering services and internal project costs for the Phase 1 wastewater utility improvements, including project management, surveying, geotechnical investigations, permitting, preparation of construction documents, and construction administration support. Funding is provided from the Utility Wastewater Connection Fee Fund. Future funding requests for subsequent project phases will be presented separately as needed.
