Recommended Action:
a) Approve the Resolution authorizing the Lease Agreement with the Center for Abuse and Rape Emergencies of Charlotte County, Inc. (C.A.R.E.) for space at the Mid-County Mini-Transfer & Recycling Facility; and
b) Authorize the Chairman to sign the Resolution.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
Florida Statute Section 125.38 allows the County to lease property to not-for-profit organizations that promote public or community interest.
Public Works and Real Estate Services has determined this building is not currently required for county use and can serve the community through C.A.R.E.’s mission of advocating for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
The lease with the Center for Abuse and Rape Emergencies of Charlotte County, Inc. (C.A.R.E.) shall be for three-years (3) with two (2) additional one-year (1) renewal options. The annual rental rate will be $1.00.
Public Works, the County Attorney’s Office and Real Estate Services have reviewed and approved this lease.
