Background:
Public Safety has requested the purchase of 32 Self Contained Breathing Apparatuses (SCBA) units for Fire Station 17 and Field. The 32 units requested are the MSA G1 XR Edition SCBA along with the G1 Cylinder Assemblies and G1 Face Shields. Ten-8 Fire Equipment, Inc. is the sole authorized distributor of MSA SCBA and SCBA Accessories for the Municipal Fire Service Market for Charlotte County, Florida, making this a Sole Source purchase.
Therefore, it is in the County’s best interest to award the purchase of Sole Source File #26-614, SCBA for Public Safety, to Ten-8 Fire Equipment, Inc. of Bradenton, Florida for the total amount of $337,821.12.
