Approve award of Request for Bid #26-478, Bayshore Live Oak Park - Seawall Replacement, to Gulfshore Marine Construction of Naples, Florida, for the total amount of $444,286.50. This is for the seawall replacement at Bayshore Live Oak Park.

Budgeted Action:
No action needed. Funding for this hurricane Idalia repair is being provided through the County’s general revenues and collected in the hurricane fund. There is a 12.5% local match. The SB4A state program may cover the 12.5% local match, depending on available funding.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
It is the intent of Charlotte County to secure the services of a Contractor to furnish all labor, equipment, supplies, materials, transportation, fuel, power, and water, along with providing environmental protection and performing all operations in connection with the Bayshore Live Oak Park - Seawall Replacement. The project is located at 23157 Bayshore Road, Port Charlotte, Florida 33980.
Therefore, it has been determined to be in the best interest of the County to award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Gulfshore Marine Construction of Naples, Florida, for the total amount of $444,286.50.
Completion time is 180 calendar days with $1,690 per calendar day for liquidated damages.
