Recommended Action:
Approve grant application for Florida Sports Foundation in the amount of $25,000 for the Snowbird Baseball Classic.

Budgeted Action:
No action needed. Grant funding in the amount of $25,000 is included in the FY26 general fund budget for tourism development. Grant funding will be provided by Florida Sports Foundation. Matching funds in the amount of $25,000 will be paid by the Tourism Development Tax Fund.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
The Florida Sports Foundation (FSF) grant assists by offsetting a certain portion of expenses related to the production of the Snowbird Baseball Classic. The County has been receiving FSF grants for over 10 years. This event generates significant economic impact for the County, a primary responsibility of the Tourism Development Department. Pursuant to Resolution 2016-136, the amount of the grant exceeds the County Administrator’s authorization to execute applications and related documents without Board approval.
