REQUESTED MOTION/ACTION

Recommended Action:
a) Approve award of Request for Bid #26-503, Asphalt Repairs - Annual Contract to MasTec North America, Inc., of North Fort Myers, Florida at the unit prices indicated on the Bid form; and
b) Authorize the County Administrator to approve the renewal options up to two (2) additional one-year terms, at the same prices, terms and conditions, by mutual consent. The contract period will be from October 1, 2026, through and including September 30, 2027.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
This is an annual contract for the services to repair and/or replace asphalt along selected roads and parking areas within Charlotte County. Work includes all materials, labor, equipment, and operations to provide necessary road repairs on an “as needed” basis after a County Department has completed infrastructure repairs. A Request for Bids was solicited, and five (5) bids were received.
Therefore, it has been determined that it would be in the best interest of the County to award Request for Bid #26-503, Asphalt Repairs-Annual Contract to MasTec North America, Inc., of North Fort Myers, Florida, at the unit prices bid for the contract period of October 1, 2026 through and including September 30, 2027, with the option to renew for two (2) additional one-year terms at the same prices, terms, and conditions, by mutual consent.
