REQUESTED MOTION/ACTION

Recommended Action:

a) Approve Ranking of firms for Request for Proposal #26-441, Glades County Adaptation Areas Planning Project: 1st Aptim Environmental & Infrastructure, LLC, of Boca Raton, Florida, 2nd AtkinsRealis, of Tampa, Florida; and

b) Approve start of negotiations; and

c) Authorize the Chairman to sign the contracts after completion of negotiations, if contract does not exceed the amount of $200,000.

Budgeted Action:

No action needed. Grant funding in the amount of $200,000 is included in the FY26 budget for the Coastal Heartland National Estuary Program (CHNEP). Grant funding will be provided by EPA IIJA. There is no local match required.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background: 

Charlotte County, on behalf of the Coastal & Heartland National Estuary Partnership, is seeking a professional services firm to develop a component of Glades County’s Comprehensive Vulnerability Assessment relating to identifying priority Adaptation Action Areas, as well as to develop specific recommended adaptation strategies and

proposed projects for the top three prioritized Adaptation Action Areas.

Two (2) proposals were received and evaluated by the Professional Services Committee consisting of Jennifer Hecker, Executive Director - CHNEP, Mollie Holland, Environmental and Community Resiliency Coordinator - Administration, and Shaun Cullinan, Planning & Zoning Official - Community Development. Copies of the proposals received are attached along with the breakdown of the ranking
