BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

body

Background:

On July 16, 2025, the Board of County Commissioners directed staff to create an Advisory Board from volunteers residing within and paying into the Cook & Brown Street MSBU. At the request of Administration, vacant positions on the Advisory Board were advertised for a period of six (6) months. Despite these efforts, no applications or expressions of interest were received.

Due to the lack of participation and inability to establish a functioning advisory board, staff is requesting the Board of County Commissioners to approve an ordinance to abolish the Cook & Brown Street MSBU Advisory Board.
