BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

body

Background:

The Florida Legislature enacted Section 775.083, Florida Statutes to fund criminal justice education and training programs. The Sheriff receives Contraband Forfeiture revenue each year from money seized in violation of Sections 932.701 - 932.704, Florida Statutes, also known as the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act. The Act requires the proceeds to be deposited in a special Law Enforcement Trust Fund established by the Board of County Commissioners and that the funds may be expended by the Sheriff upon request.
