REQUESTED MOTION/ACTION
recommendation
Recommended Action:
a) Approve Piggyback File #26-572, EMS Supplies and Inventory Management System, a piggyback of the Okaloosa County Contract #C21-3072-PS, with Bound Tree Medical, LLC, of Dublin, Ohio at the percentage discount off list of 35% with exceptions as identified. The initial term of this contract with be from date of approval through and including 08/31/2027; and
b) Authorize the County Administrator to approve up to two (2) optional one-year renewals at the same prices, terms, and conditions.

Budgeted Action:
No action needed. Budget for this item comes from savings in various account lines budgeted in the General Fund - Emergency Medical Services budget as approved in the FY2026 budget process. Funding for this expenditure comes from the General Fund.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
Both Bound Tree and Okaloosa County have been contacted and have agreed to allow Charlotte County to Piggyback Okaloosa County Contract #C21-3072-PS, EMS Supplies & Inventory Management Software, with Bound tree Medical, LLC.
By partnering with Bound Tree Medical there have been several enhancements to our current system. We currently utilize Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. This provides many benefits and enhancements to processes. Currently in Central Supply (logistics), we stock over 3,000 medical supply items. To manually counting these items requires 2-3 days. RFID technology allows for a person to inventory the same products in a few short minutes. Bound Tree has also committed to packaging supplies in quantities that we have to currently break open cases into smaller quantities. This provides time and cost savings.
