BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
The proposed contract between Charlotte County and the Florida Department of Health is for the operation of the Charlotte County Health Department for the term commencing October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027. The contract provides that the State will pay (direct contribution excluding any State authorized fees or other State revenues) $4,198,918 and Charlotte County will provide $856,565 (direct contribution excluding any fees or "other" local revenues), for the operation of the Health Department. Funds for the contract are included in Charlotte County's operating budget for the fiscal year that begins October 1, 2026.
