Recommended Action:
a) Approve Resolution to increase landfill tipping fees with a one-year upfront increase and subsequent annual percentage increases to keep pace with inflation; and
b) Authorize the Chairman to sign Resolution.

No action needed. Budgeted in the Enterprise Fund - Public Works Solid Waste Landfill budget as approved in the FY2025 budget process. Funding for the expenditure comes from Fees.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
Public Works Solid Waste Division operates the Charlotte County Zemel Road Landfill. On June 17, 2025, the County Commissioners where presented a thorough analysis of the financial standing and projected operating costs prepared by the Raftelis Consulting Firm. The Solid Waste Revenue Sufficiency Study was presented to the Commissioners regarding landfill tipping fees. The Commissioners requested the County Administrator to provide for an upfront increase and an annual adjustment, which is reflected in the resolution and its exhibit.
