Recommended Action:

Approve Amendment 2 to Contract #24-098, Construction Manager at Risk - Williams R. Gaines Jr. Veterans Memorial Park with Jon F. Swift Construction of Sarasota, Florida for the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the management/construction phase of the project in the amount of $1,650,135.

Budgeted Action:

No action needed. A budget adjustment will be needed to increase the Capital Improvement Project “Wm. R. Gaines Jr. Veterans Memorial Park Phase 2” from $1,750,000 to $2,097,781. It will be brought back to the board with the quarterly adjustments based on board direction provided during the January 27th  meeting.

Background: 

On March 24, 2024, the Board approved the ranking and start of negotiations for the Construction Manager at Risk - Williams R. Gaines Jr. Veterans Memorial Park and GC Herring Park with Jon F. Swift Construction to provide the professional services for William R. Gaines Jr Memorial Park and GC Herring Park.

 

This Amendment is for the construction management phase, establish the scope and approval for the GMP, which means the maximum compensation to be paid by the County in providing all work required to complete the project. The anticipated work/construction is to be completed within 210 calendar days.
