BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

body

Background:

Sunrise Channel, which services the area near the boat ramp at the Charlotte County Beach Complex, was most recently dredged in FY19 with a Boater Revolving Fund (BRF) allocation, and a dredge is scheduled for FY21 from an allocation from the BRF. However, an interim FY20 dredge has been deemed necessary in order to restore safe navigation for the channel. Revenue for the Boater Revolving Fund (BRF) comes from boat registrations. The County distributes these funds internally and externally for projects that improve boater activities. However, the funding for FY20 projects for BRF funds was completed on April 23, 2019. This problem occurred after the FY20 allocations were made. Any funds from the BRF after the 2019 date are allowed by Board action, but are considered out of cycle requests.
