REQUESTED MOTION/ACTION
recommendation
Recommended Action:
a) Approve award of Amendment #9, Engineering Services-Pirate Harbor Waterway, with Coastal Engineering Consultants, in the amount of $13,720; and
b) Authorize the Chairman to sign the Amendment. This is for implementation of the seagrass mitigation plan and completion of public interest requirements required by State and Federal Permits.

Budgeted Action:
No action needed. Funding is available from Pirate Harbor Waterway MSBU project, "Maintenance Dredging" as approved in the FY20 budget process. Funding for this expenditure comes from Pirate Harbor Waterway MSBU assessments.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
This contract was for professional services in applying for separate standard general permits for dredging a 2,300-foot channel and removing rock in the pirate Harbor Waterway System, originally approved by the Board on May 10, 2005.
Amendment #1 was for additional professional services in order to respond to the Department of Environmental Protection's (DEP) request for additional information (RAIs).
Amendment #2 was for professional services required in order to respond to new requests from DEP concerning proposed dredging to remove rock from existing marked waterway.
Amendment #3 was required to respond to continuing requests from DEP, Charlotte Harbor Aquatic Preserve, Army Corps of Engineers, and National Marine Fisheries Services concerning proposed dredging to remove rock from existing marked waterway with Pirate Harbor Subdivision.
Amendment #4 was for continuation of the project in commencing construction phase and reflected the additional work required
