Recommended Action:
a) Approve the transfer of $292,700 from the Federal Equitable Sharing Fund to the Sheriff in accordance with the attached request letter from Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO); and
b) Approve Resolution for BA23-030 int the amount of $292,700.

Approve Budget Adjustment BA23-030 in the amount of $292,700 to the Law Enforcement Trust Fund Budget. Funding for this expenditure comes from Law Enforcement Trust Fund.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
The Sheriff receives Federal Forfeiture revenue each year from their contribution to the Law Enforcement effort resulting in that Federal Forfeiture.
The regulations require the proceeds to be deposited in a Special Law Enforcement Trust Fund established but the Board of County Commissioners and the Funds may be expensed by the Sheriff upon request.
