Approve an Ordinance of the Board of County Commissioners of Charlotte County, Florida, pursuant to Section 125.66, Florida Statutes, amending Charlotte County Code Chapter 3-9: Zoning, 1) Article I. General, by revising Section 3-9-2, Rules of Construction; Definitions to a) add the definition of "Farmers' Market", and b) revise the definition of "Park" and "Private Park"; 2) Article III. Special Regulations, by adding new Section 3-9-91. Accessory Use - Farmers' Market, providing for intent; providing for purpose; providing for requirements and conditions; providing for conflict with other Ordinances; providing for severability; and providing for an effective date. Applicant: Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners. This application is County-wide.

In order to provide an opportunity for local famers and residents to sell agricultural and organic products, arts and crafts, or other similar goods, and to clarify what kind of accessory uses can be permitted within the public parks.The staff initiated an amendment to the Charlotte County Land Development Regulations, Chapter 3-9: Zoning by:
? Amending Article I: In General, Section 3-9-2. Rules of Construction; definitions to add "Farmers' Market: a location where, as an accessory use subject to Section 3-9-91. Accessory Use - Farmers' Market, as may be amended, agricultural and organic items, arts and crafts, or other similar goods, may be offered for sale. Resale of retail items is not permitted"; and revise the definition of "Park" and "Private Park".
