Recommended Action:
Approve award of Request for Letters of Interest (RLI) File #24-112, Work Order #288 (Contract 15-421) Engineering Services Northwest Port Charlotte Bridges, to DRMP of Tampa, Florida in the amount of $197,560. This is for the engineering services required for two bridges located in Northwest Port Charlotte.

No action needed. Budgeted in the Public Works MSBU/TU Bridges Capital Maintenance Plan as approved in the FY24 budget process. Funding is supplied from North West Port Charlotte Street and Drainage MSBU assessments.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
The Public Works Engineering Division in need of a qualified professional engineering firm with experience in design and rehabilitation of prestressed concrete slab bridges to provide engineering services to implement the County's Bridge Maintenance Program for two bridges in the Northwest Port Charlotte MSBU. These bridges (014044 - Chamberlain Boulevard over Jupiter Waterway, 014045 - Chamberlain Boulevard over Apollo Waterway) are of similar design and condition, need rehabilitation and maintenance, and will need a sidewalk and new traffic rail incorporated into the design for each. It is required that all design aspects meet current applicable FHWA, FDOT, OSHA and Coast Guard standards. The Consultant will prepare an engineering bridge repair memorandum providing a summary of findings from the Consultant's site inspection, evaluations, and provide recommendations. The selected Consultant shall also be provided the most recent FDOT Bridge Inspection report(s).
