REQUESTED MOTION/ACTION

Recommended Action:

a) Approve the ranking of firms for Request for Proposal #24-122, Sandhill Boulevard Widening: 1st Johnson Engineering, Inc, of Fort Myers, Florida; 2nd Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc. of Sarasota, Florida; and

b) Approve start of negotiations; and

c) Authorize the Chairman to sign the Contract after completion of negotiations.

Budgeted Action:

No action needed. Budgeted in Capital Improvements Project "Sandhill Blvd Widening - Kings Hwy to Capricorn" and “Relocation Needs Utility Pipe Replacement” each approved in the FY24 budget process. Funding is supplied from Gas Taxes reimbursed from Road Impact Fees, and Utility Connection Fees.

Background: 

This is for professional engineering services for Sandhill Boulevard Widening, which includes but not limited to, alternative analysis, design, permitting, construction support and monitoring.

 

Two (2) proposals were received and evaluated by the Professional Services Committee consisting of Jeff Keyser, Project Manager - Public Works Engineering, Lindsey Johnson, Strategic Planning & Project Manager - Facilities and Dean Campbell, Project Manager - Utilities. A copy of the proposals are attached, along with a breakdown of the ranking
