Approve award of "piggyback" purchase, File #24-275, Walenda Booster Station Generator Upgrade, with Pantropic Power of Miami, Florida per the Florida Sheriffs Association, Florida Association of Counties and Florida Chiefs Association, Contract # FSA 23-EQU21.0, for the purchase of a Caterpillar C27 Generator 800kW Stationary with additional options for Utilities at the cost of $411,456.

No action needed. Budgeted in CIP project "Walenda and Rotonda Booster Station Upgrades" as adopted in the FY24 Capital Improvement Program budget process. Funding is supplied from the Utility Water Connection Fee Fund.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
The purpose of this "piggyback" purchase is to secure a firm price for the purchase and delivery of a Caterpillar C27 Generator 800kW Stationary with additional options listed. This upgrade is to assist in improving water quality and distribution system, as well as, meeting the demands for future needs and growth.
The prices, terms, conditions and specifications from the Florida Sheriffs Association, Florida Association of Counties and Florida Chiefs Association, Contract #FSA 23-EQU21.0 have been reviewed for the purchase of the Generator for Utilities. This contract contains a provision granting purchases by other governmental agencies.
Therefore, it has been determined to be in the best interest of the County to award the purchase of the Caterpillar C27 Generator 800kW Stationary with additional options to Pantropic Power of Miami, Florida at the cost of $411,456.
