Budgeted Action:
No action needed. Budgeted in the “Ackerman Septic to Sewer and Water Expansion” project as part of the Charlotte Harbor Water Quality Initiative as adopted in the FY24 budget process. Funding will be supplied from the Ackerman MSBU Fund through Ackerman Sewer MSBU Assessments and Base Rates.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
The purpose of this bid is to secure the services of a Contractor to furnish and install all piping and appurtenances, abandonment of existing septic tanks and restoration to successfully connect approximately 100 properties located in the Ackerman Avenue area to the newly constructed vacuum central sewer system which will be referred to as “Plumbing Contract 4”.
After review and evaluation of the bid received, it has been determined to be in the best interest of the County to award the Ackerman Vacuum Sewer Zones 1 and 2 - Plumbing Contract 4 to the lowest responsive, responsible, bidder, Rohaley and Sons Plumbing Contractors, Incorporated of Fort Myers, Florida in the amount of $486,570.
Contract Time is 135 calendar days, with Liquidated Damages of $1,170 per calendar day.
