Approve award of Request for Bid #24-228, Construct Sidewalks on Fruitland Avenue and Avenue of the Americas to Marquee Development, Inc. of Tampa, Florida for the total amount of $1,768,166.93. This is for the construction of a new concrete sidewalk on Fruitland Avenue and Avenue of the Americas.

No action needed. Budgeted in Capital Improvements Project "Regional Bicycle-Pedestrian Trails & Sidewalks" approved in the FY24 budget process. Funding is supplied from the 2020 Sales Tax Extension.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
It is the intent of Charlotte County to construct a new concrete sidewalk on Fruitland Avenue and Avenue of the Americas. The work specified herein shall consist of furnishing all materials, equipment, labor, and operations necessary to complete the work as indicated in the plans and specifications enclosed.
Therefore, recommend award to the overall lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Marquee Development, Inc. of Tampa, Florida for the total amount of $1,768,166.93, with a completion time of 240 calendar days and a liquidated damages rate of $1,690 per calendar day.
