Recommended Action:
a) Approve Amendment #1 to Contract 18-307, Sidewalk Design - Dorchester Street with Southwest Engineering and Design Inc. of Punta Gorda, Florida in the amount of $25,620; and
b) Authorize the Chairman to sign Amendment #1 to the Contract for the amended services.

Budgeted Action:
No action needed. Budgeted in the Capital Improvements Project “Greater Port Charlotte Master Sidewalk Plan” as approved in the FY24 budget process. Funding is supplied from Greater Port Charlotte Street and Drainage MSBU assessments.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
On July 10, 2018, the Board approved the ranking and negotiations for the Sidewalk Design - Dorchester Street with Southwest Engineering and Design Inc. to provide all services necessary to design, permit and produce construction-ready plans for a new sidewalk on Dorchester Street and Yancy Street.
This amendment is to change project services to provide for design, bidding and construction services in two (2) phases, Phase 1 and Phase 2. Phase 1 will be from Midway Boulevard to Peachland Boulevard, and Phase 2 will be from Peachland Boulevard to Bachmann Boulevard, and then down Atwater Street. It is the intent to separate the current 100% plans into two (2) construction phases with separate bid documents and construction services.
