recommendation
Recommended Action:
a) Ratification of administrative approval to apply for the 2024 Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) Grant application for the construction to widen Harborview Road; and
b) Board approval to apply for the same.

budget
Budgeted Action:
No action needed. A budget adjustment and Capital Improvement Program amendment will be brought to the board for approval, if awarded. Adjustment will be to adopted Capital Improvements Project “Harborview Road Widening - Melbourne to I75”. Local grant funding of $12,839,000 will come from the 2020 Sales Tax Extension and Road Impact Fees.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
This action is necessary as the tight deadline to apply resulted in the need for administrative approval. Funding continues to be an issue for the project to widen Harborview Road and the 2024 RAISE grant provided a great opportunity to seek the desperately needed funding required to see this project to fruition.
