REQUESTED MOTION/ACTION
recommendation
Recommended Action:
a) Approve Novation of Contract #22-439 from Tire Shredders of America of Tampa, Florida to Covanta Environmental Solutions LLC (CES) of Morrison, New Jersey; and
b) Authorize the Chairman to sign the Novation; and
c) Authorize County Administrator, or his designee, to approve one additional renewal options at the same prices, terms, and conditions, by mutual consent.

No action needed. Budgeted in the Enterprise Fund - Public Works Solid Waste Landfill budget as approved in the FY2024 budget process. Funding for the expenditure comes from Fees.

Background:
Tire Shredders of America was acquired by Covanta Environmental Solutions LLC, thus requiring a novation for the contract. This Contract is an annual contract to remove automobile, truck, and off-road heavy equipment tires to a certified disposal site in accordance with industry standards and Federal, State, and Local rules, regulations, and guidelines on a “as required” basis for the Public Works Solid Waste Division.
