Recommended Action:

a) Approve the issuance of the 9-1-1- Letter of Agency with Motorola Solutions Connectivity, Inc., authorizing Motorola to act as the 9-1-1 System service provider in Charlotte County and to undertake certain service-related activities on behalf of Charlotte County, including, but not limited to, interconnections, database services, routing services and text to 9-1-1- services; and

b) Authorize the Chairman to execute the Letter of Agency

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background: 

On or about June 13, 2023, the County entered into the 911 Grant Program Agreement with the Florida E911 Board, providing certain funding on a reimbursement basis for E911 upgrades. On or about January 9, 2024, the County entered into an agreement with Motorola Solutions Connectivity, Inc (“Motorola”) for Next Generation 9-1-1 Core Services and Emergency Services IP Network, to provide for certain upgraded interconnection transition services, which Motorola will oversee. This Letter of Agency grants Motorola the authority to order services and process records associated with the 9-1-1- services and certain other public safety functions.
