a) Approve the Settlement Agreement and Release in Wilbur B. Graf v. Charlotte County, Florida, Case No. 22001387CA in the 20th Judicial Circuit Court in and for Charlotte County, Florida, relating to a motor vehicle accident; and
b) Authorize the Chairman to sign the Settlement Agreement and Release.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
This agreement will serve as full settlement and release, concluding litigation filed by Mr. Graf against Charlotte County regarding a motor vehicle accident in May 2021 that occurred at the intersection of Kings Highway and Veterans Boulevard. In the complaint, Mr. Graf was seeking compensatory damage for injuries sustained during that accident. By approving this settlement, the case will be resolved and the County will avoid the uncertainty of a trial verdict.
