Recommended Action:

a) Approve the Charlotte County Coastal Storm Risk Management Study Agreement between The Department of the Army Corps of Engineers and Charlotte County; and

b) Authorize the chairman to sign the agreement for Charlotte County Coastal Storm Risk Management Study.

Budgeted Action:

Upon execution, a budget adjustment will be brought back to the Board for approval. Funding will be supplied by the Capital Projects Fund, ad valorem.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background: 

This item is to initiate an agreement between Charlotte County and the Army Corps of Engineers to cost share on a Coastal Storm Risk Management Study. The three-year study is the first action necessary to Federalize the beach renourishment program. The total cost is projected to be three million dollars to be split equally between the Government and Non-Federal Sponsor.
