Recommended Action:
a) Approve the award of Request for Bid #24-289, Tom Adams Moveable Bridge Maintenance and Repair - Annual Contract to the lowest responsive responsible bidder, Florida Drawbridge Incorporated of Pompano Beach, Florida at the unit prices submitted for a period of Date of Award through and including September 30, 2025; and
b) Authorize County Administrator, or his designee, to approve renewal options for up to two (2) additional one (1) year periods at the same prices, terms, and conditions, by mutual consent.

No action needed. Budgeted in the Public Works Bridge Capital Maintenance Plan approved in the FY24 budget process. Funding is supplied from Capital Projects Fund, ad valorem.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
The intent of this Bid is to secure the services of a Contractor to furnish all materials, labor, equipment, and all other appurtenances required to successfully complete the required maintenance and "as needed" repairs for the Tom Adams Bridge Tender House and the Tom Adams Bridge, 010029, which connects Manasota Key to the mainland via Beach Road. This bridge is about 60 years old and in need of a maintenance and repairs Contract.
There was one (1) bid from Florida Drawbridge Incorporated of Pompano Beach, Florida and after review, the department has recommended award.
Therefore, it is in the best interest of the County to approve the award of Request for Bid #24-289, Tom Adams Moveable Bridge Maintenance and Repair - Annual Contract to the lowest responsive responsible bidder, Florida Drawbridge Incorporated of Pompano Beach, Florida at the unit prices submitted for a period of Date of Award through and including Sept...
