Background:

Due to the passing of House Bill 807 and F.S. 163.211, local licensing of occupations is expressly preempted to the State of Florida. Therefore, staff is proposing to repeal local license requirements for taxicabs, fortunetellers, clairvoyants, palmists, etc. in Charlotte County. These trades will be regulated solely by the appropriate agencies.
